  9. <p>The unit was formed as the 3636th Combat Crew Training Group (Survival) in April 1966, and was subsequently upgraded to wing standard. The unit became the 336th Training Group when the Air Force eliminated most of the four-digit identities. The 36th Rescue Flight was transferred to the unit from the 92nd Operations Group in July 1993.
